The federal office that issues apostilles for US documents.

The Office of Authentications issues apostilles for federal documents such as FBI background checks, plus documents for use in non-Hague countries. Requests go by mail with Form DS-4194, or in person in Washington, D.C. State-issued documents go to the Secretary of State instead.
